In a peaceful area

Pofadder Attractions

Pofadder is a charming little village with friendly warm hearted people, on the border of Namakwaland and Northern Cape, en route between Upington and Springbok.

The town of Pofadder gets its name from a local chief called Klaas Pofadder, who lived and died (in a hail of bullets) at this spot.

After good rain, the flower season comes around every year in August, with pallets of all flower colours. Springbok, the capital of Namaqualand, with its flowers is about 160km from Vraweer Guest House.

We are close to:

  • Klein Pella with its dadel plantation (Greatest in South Africa) and export vineyards is about 70km away.
  • The Namibian border, which is about 50km away.
  • Springbok, the capital of Namaqualand, about 160km away. If you drive about 30km further, you will reach Witbank and the famous Namaqua Eco 4×4 route.
  • Augrabies Falls National Park, about 160km from the guest house, on your way to Kakamas.
